In accordance with Sony's CSR policies, the Sony Building strives to contribute to a sustainable society, to increase its corporate value, and to earn the trust of its stakeholders in implementing environmental activities and contributing to society.
Environmental activities
The Sony Building is a participant in the Green Power Certification system, offsetting its consumption of electricity through the purchase of wind energy. (89% of all electricity used, as of June 2008)
Power conservation initiatives
- Replaced panel lighting on the outside walls with energy-saving LEDs.
- Installed a sensor-operated escalator
- Replaced the lights in the elevator hall with energy-saving LEDs.Environmentally conscious exterior coating
- Part of the exterior wall is coated with a titanium-oxide photocatalyst that reduces its frequency of cleaning while degrading NOx (nitrogen oxides) and other toxic substances.Recycling of advertising banners
- The large advertising banners used on the building's exterior wall are recycled after use, and are made from materials that do not release toxic substances when disposed of.

-Ai no Izumi (Fountain of Love)
The Fountain of Love is based on the Trevi Fountain in Rome. It is said that if you throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain, you will find happiness. Since 1968, the Sony Building has used its own version of the famous fountain to collect money for charity.

Ai no Izumi(Fountain of Love) Sony Group Charity Program
In support of reconstruction following the massive, unprecedented Great East Japan Earthquake.
And especially in support of the children, who are the next generation.
How donations are used Through the public interest incorporated association Save the Children Japan, all donations will be presented to the Great East Japan Earthquake reconstruction support project RESTART JAPAN Fund, and will be used for the shelter and care of children affected by the earthquake, as well as for their education and creative activities.

-Sony Aquarium
For this popular event, held every year since 1966, a large aquarium is erected in Ginza.
-Tokyo Shibafu Ouendan (Tokyo Greenkeepers Association)
Since June 2008, we have been participating in a project to "green" Tokyo's public elementary and middle schools by planting grass in their schoolyards.
In addition, for every 1 million visitors, the Sony Building will provide the materials necessary for lawn maintenance.
